Oh Hey Friday!

And just like that we say goodbye to March and hello to April.  Where who where is time going?  Not that I'm complaining, as I've mentioned a few times, we are now two months away from summer and that makes me very happy.

April is looking to be a super fun month, so I thought I would dedicate this edition of Oh Hey Friday to 5 things I'm most looking forward to in the month of April.

[one] Bridesmaid's dress shopping.  My roommate officially got engaged last month and so she is in full wedding planning mode (truth be told she has been since January) and we've set up a day this month to go bridesmaids dress shopping.  I've been a bridesmaid 5 times already (YIKES) and so this well be my 6th friend and 6th dress.  But I'm super excited! :)

[two] Attending a book conference.  Next weekend is the Books are Bigger in Texas Book Con and I will be there.  Now the thing about this book conference is that all the authors right romance novels.  Not the romance novels that I usually read, where there is this epic love story, with some eye rolling sex scenes thrown in.  No, these are like down and dirty sex scenes - think 50 Shades of Grey without the S&M parts.  Those types of romance novels are not for me.  I need an epic love story in there before the sex.  You know the whole - "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in baby carriage" type love story.  But a friend of mine loves these types of books and she's driving down from Dallas to come to the conference and asked me to come along because she didn't want to go alone.

There are lots of authors going and there will even be male models there.  So wrap your head around that little tidbit.  Obviously the whole experience will be documented on the blog so y'all will all get a first hand account of the whole thing!

[three] My first Houston Bloggers Collective Meet up.  I was recently added to one of the best Facebook groups EVER.  It's called the Houston Bloggers Collective and basically it's a group with only Houston bloggers where we can ask each other questions, plan events, and basically just support each other in any way possible.  This month I'll be attending my first meet up with them and I am so excited!  I met lots of these wonderful ladies at the Thrive Blog Conference in February and so it will be so fun to see them all again!

[four] No-pril! Last October when I was saving for Europe my roommate and I participated in what we called "No-tober".  Basically we made a plan to not spend ANY extra money on anything.  That included eating out, clothes, extra stuff from Target, home decor, etc.  So I've decided to partake in what I'm calling "No-pril".  Same concept, different month.  The only same exception I'm giving myself is the Blogger Meet Up.  Other than that I will be spending zero extra money on anything in the month of April.  We'll see how it goes!

[five]  Happy Birthday LACEY.  My sweet baby niece Lacey turns 1 year old today!!! I cannot believe it has already been year since my bestie had her.  Life sure is different for Ashley and her hubby but I know they wouldn't change a thing and neither would I.  Sadly I'm missing her first birthday but Ashley is gonna Facetime me so I can at least take part in a little bit of the celebrations tomorrow!

Sorry for the lack of pictures this week.  My Instgram game was pretty weak this week.  See what I did there.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! :)  Linking up for Oh Hey Friday.

  1. Happy birthday to your niece! No-pril sounds like a good idea--I'm not sure I could do it this month with all of the sales and things getting ready for the next season, but maybe that's a good reason TO do it! haha

  2. I like the No-ril idea! Keep us posted on how it goes! I definitely notice that those little Target-latte-takeout-pedicure charges add up so fast! Yikes!

  3. I need a No-Pril, I'm gonna give it a try! How awesome about the Houston blogger group, hope to join and meet up with Houston bloggers later this year. Happy birthday to your niece!!

  4. I would love to be able to do No-Pril but I have NO control. Stopping over from the linkup. Hope you can hop by my blog as well. Have an awesome weekend!

  5. Oh my goodness I can't wait to hear about this book conference 😳😳 <- that would be my face the whole time.

  6. You're getting up there with the bridesmaids dresses, like me! It's so much fun to be a part of weddings, and I'm sure the dresses your roommate picks out will be so pretty! I can't wait to hear all about that book conference! I wouldn't want to look anyone in the eyes that's for sure!

  7. That book conference definitely sounds interesting! I'm don't like romance novels but it sounds like it will be entertaining! Good luck with your no-spending goal!

  8. hmmm that book conference sounds interesting indeed!! who knows, maybe it will be awesome lol. good luck with no-pril!! we can do it :) and aw bridesmaids! jealous! i have never been a bridesmaid. congrats to your roommate!

I love hearing from anyone who stops by! Leave me some love and I will be sure to do the same! :)
