The Weekend

Hello again Monday.  I am not pleased to see you. Although I guess I should be because we only have 8 more Mondays to get through and then it's summer vacation.  #perkofbeingateacher

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend. Mine was pretty good, but nothing terribly exciting happened.

Here's a quick recap:

-No school Friday meant a late night Thursday.  (Why can't every weekend be a 3 day weekend?)

-We went to the animal shelter on Friday to see my new baby, Brady.  He's getting so big!  I should be able to take him home either this coming weekend or the next.  Did I mention he has 6 toes on each of his front paws? Cuz he does.

- Brunch was had on Friday in honor of the 3 day weekend.

-Saturday we went to a dog adoption event at City Centre in Houston.  Jenny is on the board of directors at a local no-kill animal shelter called Special Pals.  It's where I'm adopting Brady from.  They had 3 of the 6 dogs they brought to the event adopted!  So if you're in the Katy/Houston area and you're looking to adopt a new pet.....come to Special Pals!  Click here to visit their website.

-I started reading a new book!  It's called Once We Were Brothers, it's a WWII era novel and I'm loving it so far.

-I soaked up as much Sadie time as I could.  Especially since we'll be adding another member to our little family soon.  I'm really hoping she reacts well to Brady.

- More Netflix was watched.  Oh but we did watch Crossroads, you know the movie with the amazingly talented Ms. Britney Spears.  The good Britney....in her prime Britney.  We had forgotten how great that movie was.

-Easter Sunday I did not make it to church because I haven't found a church I really like in Houston just yet.  But we did go to a friends house for Easter lunch.  Everything was absolutely delicious.

- Since I hate my job and it's finally "hiring season" for most school districts, I spent last night updating my resume and cover letter.  Then I applied for a few jobs that schools in the district I live in have posted so far.   I only have 2 more months of school left and I am praying that I have a new job in a new district for next year.

I think I like my uneventful weekends more than I like my eventful weekends.  They seem more real to me.  Don't you think so?

Have a great Monday lovelies!

Linking up with Biana!

  1. I love Crossroads! When that & A Walk To Remember came out I watched both of them after school, every day, for 2 weeks!
