The Weekend

High 5 for Friday!

SO.....I just realized that my High 5 for Friday post, that I posted before work this morning, was erased when I submitted the link up.
(I may or may not have tried to do it from my phone while on The Haunted Mansion ride. woops! That'll teach me to have my phone out when I'm not supposed to at work!) ; )

So that means I get to re-write it for you guys.

Here we go!

Well hello Friday!

You did not get here soon enough.

I haven't had an official day off for two weeks!
It's gross.
Sure I'm off by like 2 everyday, but I never get to just sleep in.

Luckily I have off the whole weekend!

I'm looking forward to waking up when my internal clock tells me (which will most likely be 7:00), drinking coffee out of a real mug (not a to-go mug), and to just relaxing on my couch.

It will be delightful!

Alrighty so now it's time to share my top 5s from this week:

15 days until my cruise!
(Yep the blog countdown to the cruise has begun!)
I've told Suz that the only thing I really want to do is rent bicycles on one of the islands well be stopping at and ride them around.

Her response was heck yes!
She then informed me that we could be riding said bikes to this song:

I've been really good about not eating out and saving money.
But this week I treated myself.

I had pleasant surprise in my bank account this week.
Don't you just love when that happens?
When you have more than you thought you would.
Yeah, me too! :)

This little guy and I spent tons of time together this week.
He's totally the ruler of the apartment.

One of my fellow interns, Ryan, is a singer-songwriter.
And not just a closet singer-songewriter.
He's a legit, pretty successful singer songwriter!

(how many times can I use the word singer-songwriter in one post?!)

Anywho, yesterday he shared some of his music with me.

My favorite is a duet he sings with his wife!
He's even had a few of his songs played on popular TV shows, that we all know and love.
(Real World, Keeping up with the Kardashians, etc..)
Now I tried for like two hours to figure out how to post the song in this post.

But I failed.
So here is the link to his music website.

Check him out! :)

Have a wonderful friend and a equally amazing weekend!

Oh How Pinteresting!

It's Wednesday!

Is it just me, or does time seem to just fly by when you have a blog?

Especially when you have things to post about.

Like today!

Today (like every Wednesday so no surprise there) I'm linking up with Michelle from The Vintage Apple for:

Here are some of my favorites from this week:

I will be cruising the Bahamas in just 18 days!
Our ports of call are Freeport, Nassau, and Half Moon Cay.

I love The Office and I adore Essie nail polish.
So this is the perfect combination.

My thoughts exactly.

I just keep finding the perfect outfits for my cruise on Pinterest.
Now if only I had the funds to actually own them!

And another.

This vanity has my name written all over it!

So sad yet so true.
He's still my favorite!

Words of wisdom.

And here is a little yumminess to get you through the day.

You're Welcome! :)

Have a great one.

Sweet Reminders of Home

Hello new blogger interface!

We're y'all as surprised as I was to find a whole new homepage to your blogger as I was?

What is this, Facebook?!

Well can't say I hate it.  I love the new page for writing our posts!
It's so BIG!

So I wasn't gonna post today, but I wanted to share something with y'all that someone did for me today.

That someone is Meg from Sweetly Complicated.

Her blog is one of my daily reads and I also follow her on Instagram.

Meg lives in Texas right now and she's a teacher (just from that I knew we'd get along GREAT!)
But I soon learned that she used to live in Orlando, then moved to Texas!

We've basically swapped states. I was browsing Instagram before work and I saw Meg has posted a picture of the Texas sunset and a dandalion.
(Ps. she is one heck of a photographer so you should def check out her work! She's AMAZING!)

Anyway, I have no idea why, but her picture made me just tad homesick for Texas.
(maybe more than just a tad).
And I commented on her picture telling her just that.

Well, fast forward about 4 hours later when I'm checking my e-mail at work and I have an e-mail from Meg.

It's entitled:
Sweet Reminders of Home!

And it has this message:

Good Morning!
After I saw your comment on my dandelion picture on instagram I wanted to send you this sweet reminder of home! I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

With these two pictures attached:

Disclaimer: Photos belong to Meg! :) Please don't use them without asking her first!

I cannot tell you how touched I was upon seeing the pictures.
I literally started tearing up at work and had to excuse myself to the ladies room.

Because 1. Right now I'm missing home more than just a tad and seeing these beautiful Texas Bluebonnets was just too much.
and 2. I thought to myself, "Wow, this is why I love blogging."
Because I get to meet such amazing girls, who have some of the biggest hearts in the world!

So Meg,
You made my day.

High Five for Friday

It's Friday and I'm EXHAUSTED!
Seriously, I have no idea how I'm still functioning properly.

This whole getting up mega early and going to bed between 11 and 12, is not working at all.

On top of that, I don't have an actual day off until NEXT SATURDAY.

But it's ok.

I need the moola for my cruise and I only work till around 2 or so.
That means I can nap starting Saturday afternoon.

So without further ado here are my top 5 favorite things from the week!

I have family in town and have been meeting them after work to play in the park.
(it's why I'm exhausted!)
But I'm loving every minute of it!
I mean who wouldn't want to hang out with these cuties:
(sorry the pictures are blurry!)

(I said smile and this is what I got!)

I've started reading Fifty Shades of Grey.
This book has been all over the radio, the internet and the TV.
So I had to see what all the fuss is about.
I just started and so far it is pretty racy.
Like REAL racy.
But good.

I went to a Disney Entertainment Audition.
I was cut after the first round.
But it was still a fun experience.
There were about 120ish people and I'm pretty sure they only kept about 25 or so.
And I had these guys to keep me company!

I love my job when we can do things like this.
Yep, we're getting paid as we take that fun picture.
It's ok....I would be a tad jealous too! :)

I've been obsessed with Caprese salads lately and bought the stuff to make it at home.
I've had it at least 3 times this week.

I had a pretty great week! :)

 Hope y'all did too!

Oh How Pinteresting!

Good Morning!
When I post this it's going to be about 5:30 in the morning, so I figured I would start the post appropriately.

Getting up that early is AWFUL!
If I could at least wake up naturally (which happens at around 7:00 anyway) it wouldn't be bad because the sun is coming up too.
But getting up when it is pitch black is just wrong.
Wrong I tell you!

On the bright side it is Wednesday and Wednesday means:

Here are my top pins:

Seriously, this would be EPIC!

I would totally have these for my husband and I.
If I had a husband.

How adorable would this look with some kakis, a vest, and baby Speries.
My kid will def own a few of these!

I've been dying for a Maxi dress.
But I need one with structure.
Not one that just hangs on me.
So maybe something like this!

I'm obsessed with this entire outfit.
Yet another one I need for my cruise.

We're thinking about redecorating out living room this summer.
This would be PERFECT!

One of my favorite books as a tween.

Yet another cruise outfit. :)
Especially loving the sandals!

And here is my advice for the day.

I don't think I will ever get tired of Pinterest!
: )

For Your Entertainment

On this fine Tuesday afternoon......
I don't really have anything special to talk about.

No funny stories, no updates, no advice, NADA!

So instead, I'm going to share one of my all time favorite movie scenes.

Unfortunately I couldn't find the scene in its entirety.

So small clips will have to do.

Enjoy and most importantly.....

(what's in between these two clips is even more hilarious.)

I'm pretty sure we spent the entire weekend quoting this movie and this scene in particular.

If you haven't seen Bridesmaids...please go out and do so ASAP.

Well now that I have wasted your time with this completely pointless and frivolous post.
This is where I leave you.

Hopefully it at least brightened your day if you were having a bad one!

Scenes from the Weekend

Yet another weekend gone.
And this weekend was superb, if I do say so myself!

Some newly engaged friends came into town for a wedding (not theirs obviously) and they were able to come to Orlando for 2 fun filled Disney days.

We hit up all 4 Disney parks in just 2 days.
They left yesterday though so I've had 2 days to recharge my batteries.

So here are a few scenes from my weekend!

I had to work in the morning but I met up with everyone at Epcot afterwards:

We had a delicious dinner in Mexico.
This is Carne Asada de Tampi...yeah I can't remember the last word but it was a party in my mouth!

Then we headed home and attempted to watch The Muppets, but everyone passes out in the living room.

We started the day at Hollywood Studios and finished up at Magic Kingdom.
Actually we finished at our apartment with two 5 dollar Hot and Readys from Little Ceasars and watching Bridesmaids but whatev.

Was a day to recharge the batteries.
Slept in (until about 8:30, womp womp), ate leftover pizza, watched about 3 hours of Sex and the City, then finally got dressed and ran some errands.
My roommate made this for a pre-dinner snack:

Baked Feta cheese with tomatoes and onions.
Spread this on some french bread and it's....

My uncle always says that it doesn't look like I actually work.
That I'm on a permanent vacation.
And you know what?
I am ok with that!

Till tomorrow! :)
